Give us a brief history of your journey through photography?
My love of photography began when I moved away from home in my early 20s. I left my cozy New England farm town for the bright lights of London, and wanted to document the journey for my family and friends back home with my old Yashica SLR. Digital photography didn’t exist yet at this point, so I was buried in paper photographs and film negatives. I decided to take up an elementary form of scrapbooking, literally cutting and pasting photographs into notebooks to tell a story. Upon seeing the reactions of folks back home, I realized that I very much enjoyed making people happy with my photographs, and continued snapping for fun.
What places would you like to visit?
My dream vacation is an extended journey through South America. I’d love to see the Amazon, the Andes, the glaciers in Patagonia and the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. I’d also love to see the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids in Egypt. After I get my fill of the world, I’d like to retire in Iceland live out my days in the most magical place on earth.
